Stroove

WHAT IS STROOVE?

Stroove house and gardens are available for anyone to book for day and residential visits. Groups have sole use of the building and Stroove is perfect for a peaceful getaway for holidays, training and short breaks.

WHO IS STROOVE FOR?

Stroove is open to all groups. We are keen to welcome everyone from holiday groups to those who are experiencing stress or are on the edge of their communities. Organisations and individuals working with vulnerable groups will also find Stroove a space to recharge and be refreshed.

Stroove has 11 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 30 guests.

Stroove Woods

The Gardens at Stroove surround the House on all sides giving privacy and plenty of scope to relax, play and explore outside. The Gardens include a wooded area with a stream, picnic area and junior adventure course.

The lawn has a BBQ area near the House. The House and Gardens have stunning views over the Clyde Estuary and the Isle of Bute, with the chance of a spectacular West Coast sunset.

WHERE IS STROOVE?

Stroove is on the coast between Greenock and Largs, less than an hour’s drive from central Glasgow. Regular buses and trains run in the immediate area and neighbouring Wemyss Bay hosts the ferry service to Bute.

GROUP PROGRAMME

Groups have many options for how to use their time at Stroove and in the area, and are free to plan their own time however suits them. Information is available about local activities outwith the House and places to visit. If wanted, help is available in planning and booking trips.

TRAINING/CONFERENCES

Stroove is ideal for training, teambuilding and conferences. The YMCA holds its AGM at Stroove and the main lounge seats 90 for that event. The main room also lends itself to subdividing groups and there is an activity room just off the lounge. Groups are welcome to use Stroove’s flipcharts, Overhead Projector, VCR and DVD players, Stereo and Multi Media Projector.
